In Memory: Harry D. Dingman
Harry D. Dingman, a lawyer aged 98 died April 22, 2017. A private burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery will follow cremation. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a nephew. His first wife, Ann Dingman, died in 1978 following 33 years of marriage. His second wife, Pauline Dingman died September 9, 2016 following 36 years of marriage. Harry was born near Sturgeon, Missouri on August 15, 1918. He graduated from Cairo, Missouri High School followed by Chillicothe Business College. After 6 years of service in the Army Signal Corps during World War II he was discharged as a captain.

Following the receipt of a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Arizona he completed a Bachelor of Law and Juris Doctorate Degree from the University of Missouri Kansas City in 1954. Harry practiced law in all Missouri trial and appellate courts, the federal court in Kansas City, the Eighth Circuit Court in St Louis and ultimately, the United States Supreme Court.

In 1979 Harry left the firm of Kuraner, Dingman, Schweigle, Kinton and Lowe to become vice president and general counsel of R.W. Harmon and Sons, Inc., involved in student bus transportation and manufacturing.

Memberships include the American Bar Association, the Missouri and Clay County Bar Associations, and Lawyers Association of Kansas City. He also served on the board of the Community Bank of Raymore, Missouri.

He was a long time member of the Lee's Summit Christian Church, Independence Lodge #76, the Scottish Rite, Ararat Shrine, Ararat Legion of Honor, the Professional Mens Club of Kansas City and Post #21 of the American Legion.

Sons include son Larry Dingman and his partner Stephen Bumgarner of Kansas City; daughter Terry Sue Brody and husband Hugh Brody of Snohomish, WA; step-daughter Patricia O'Connor of Lee's Summit, MO; grandson Ryan Andelian of Everett, WA; granddaughters Andrea Bismore and Ashley Andelian of Snohomish, WA, Carrie Broome and Haley O'Connor of Kansas City; and niece Jane Ellen Kindell of Renick, MO.

A memorial service will be held June 10, 2017 at 4:00 pm at the Lee's Summit Christian Church, located at 800 NE Tudor Road, Lee's Summit, MO 64086. A celebration of life will follow the service at Garozzo's, 1547 NE Rice Road, Lee's Summit, MO.
