In Memory: Stephen K. Gardner
Stephen Kelly Gardner, 60, of Sedalia, MO, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at his home surrounded by family and friends. He was born July 11, 1956 in Kansas City, MO, a son of William "Bill" F and Grace J (Schaeffer) Gardner, Jr.

On June 8, 2013 in Sedalia, MO, he was united in marriage to Donna J. Hirner, who survives of the home.

Stephen was an over-the-road truck driver and enjoyed watching KC Chiefs and Royals ball games. He loved dancing and cooking for "Steve's Steak Night" at the Moose Lodge. He always served his diners with a personal touch. He also loved to play darts, roller skate, BBQ, and have fun on the 4th of July with family. Stephen would give a stranger the shirt off his back. In addition to the Moose Lodge, he was a member of the Shrine Club, Masonic Lodge, and the American Legion. He also served as a board member of Meals on Wheels and volunteered at C.A.S.A.

Besides his wife, Donna, he is survived by his children, Elizabeth (Steve) Lipp-Warren, and Regiena (Corry) Brennan, both of Sedalia; four grandchildren, Gage Hays, Patience Lipp, Jensen Brennan, and Aedan Brennan; his brother, Lance Gardner (Diana); his sister, Linda Schultz (Augie); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was dearly loved by his wife, children, friends, and family. Steve was a true friend and a blessing to everyone.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by seven siblings, Glenda, Joyce, Ronnie, Maxine, Karen, Barbara, and Debbie.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at the Sedalia Moose Lodge.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Sacred Heart Church, Sedalia, with Deacon Turf Martin officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend a luncheon following the service at the Sedalia Moose Lodge.

Burial will be at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Hannibal, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
